Open bus parade to celebrate Coventry City's promotion

The Lord Mayor of Coventry will also hold a Civic Reception for the Sky Blues’ promotion winning squad on Wednesday 30th May.

The Sky Blues beat Exeter City on Monday at Wembley Stadium to win promotion to League One – and the club’s first promotion since 1967.

The Lord Mayor has invited Mark Robins and the Coventry City squad for a Civic Reception to recognise the achievement of the club this season.

The squad will leave the club’s Ryton training ground at 5pm, with fans having the chance to line the bus route as the City celebrates the Sky Blues’ superb season.

The route will be as follows:

Leaving Ryton - 5pm

Oxford Road

London Road

St James Lane

Langbank Avenue

Princethorpe Way

Binley Road

Hipswell Highway

Ansty Road

Walsgrave Road

Sky Blue Way

Gosford Street

Jordon Well

Much Park Street

Fans are invited to line the route of the open top bus parade and make it a sea of Sky Blue as the City celebrates!

Dave Boddy, Coventry City Chief Executive, said:

“We are very grateful to the Lord Mayor for inviting the promotion winning squad to a Civic Reception. We are proud to be recognised in this manner by the City of Coventry.

“In advance of the reception, with the support of Coventry City Council, we are embarking on a open-top bus parade through Coventry to give supporters and the people of the city the chance to celebrate the club’s achievement.

“It will undoubtedly be a memorable occasion for everyone, and we can’t wait!”
